Coming from Carbide Motion

454 Control does the same job, and most of it will feel familiar. This page is the other part: every place it behaves differently, and why.

  • The BitSetter measures each tool, so a multi-tool job needs Z zeroed only once.
  • The BitZero sets Z0 at the top of whatever the plate sits on.
  • Homing first, then zero, then run.
  • Jogging with keyboard or buttons, in steps or continuously.
  • The spindle waits to reach speed before cutting. Neither app takes that from the file.
  • Saved G-code snippets for repetitive moves, called Quick Actions in both.
